Establishing Auteur Media has given me the freedom to use my storytelling skills to give something back. Each year at least 20 per cent of Auteur Media’s working days are dedicated to providing pro bono support and strategic guidance to causes close to my heart, including mental health, gender equality, the prevention of violence against women and tackling issues facing the LGBT+ community
Chasing the Stigma
“Chasing the Stigma is a national mental health charity committed to removing the fear and unnecessary stigma around mental health issues and revolutionising the way we find and access mental health support. Its Hub of Hope app is the UK’s go-signposting tool, directing more than 120,000 people to life-changing and even life-saving national, local and grassroots mental health support since its launch in 2017. It also offers accessible mental health training via its Ambassadors of Hope programme. I sit on the board and provide practical and strategic support regarding communications, media and PR.”

LCR Pride Foundation
“The LCR Pride Foundation aims to position Liverpool City Region as the most LGBT+ friendly region in the UK. It highlights the daily barriers that LGBT+ people living in and visiting the region face and creates an inclusive culture where people feel they can fully participate and contribute. It supports grassroots activism in the region and is also the organisation behind Pride in Liverpool, March with Pride and Film With Pride, among other cultural events and activities that it delivers and supports. As well as providing a proportion of pro-bono support, I sit on the organisation’s marketing committee.”

Savera UK
“Savera UK is an organisation speaking out against harmful practices including ‘honour’-based abuse and violence, forced marriage and female genital mutilation. It campaigns to eliminate these practices through education, awareness and lobbying, as well as providing life-saving services to those at risk. Savera UK advocates for those who need a voice and offers a completely confidential and non-judgemental service, regardless of age, culture, sexuality or gender. As well as providing a proportion of pro-bono support, I sit on the organisation’s advisory board, providing strategic support for PR and communications activities.”

“As well as providing regular support, I have helped a number of businesses and organisations in the Liverpool City Region with ad hoc campaigns, including Hype Merseyside’s #BikesForNHS campaign and Liverpool’s Choir With No Name ‘This is Me’ single launch.”
